Wrongful Death Case Filed Against Boeing Due To Defective Helicopter Part

Following two fatal helicopter crashes in Hawaii over what is believed to be caused by a defective part, Boeing has been sued by a couple from New Hampshire for wrongful death. In the suit, the Plaintiffs claim that a part was defective, which in turn led to the crashes during scenic tours.

The culprit is believed to be a defective "root fitting". Other allegations in the product liability lawsuit include assertions that emergency inspection procedures following the initial helicopter crash, could have avoided subsequent accidents.

The NTSB weighed in stating that they believe the cause of the crash to be the hydraulics. Time will tell and as discovery proceeds, more will become evident as to the specific cause or causes of these tragic helicopter crashes. One thing that will become more evident as the product liability lawsuit progresses is the amount of the medical bills of one of the Plaintiffs injured in the crash- an astounding sum approaching $700,000.

Dennis Quaid Sues Drug Maker, Baxter Healthcare, Over Defectively Designed Heparin Drug Labels

Hollywood heavyweight, Dennis Quaid and his spouse recently filed a product liability lawsuit against Illinois based Baxter Healthcare over excessive doses of Heparin given to their new set of twins at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in LA.

The Quaid's assert that the drug maker negligently packed different doses of the medicine with the same color background and that different doses should have been designated with distinctive colors to avoid confusion.

In essence the Hollywood couple strongly feels that Baxter Healthcare should not have packed different doses of the drug with the same color and should have already recalled the defectively designed packaging after three children overdosed on the drug last year and died. The Quaid's apparently are holding off for now in suing Cedar Sinai Medical Center - a break for the hospital of choice for many of Hollywood's elite - given that Cedar Sinai has all but conceded that several of their pharmacy techs and nurses neglected to verify the exact dosage of Heparin before administering it to the Quaid twins, Thomas and Zoe.

The Quaid's have a right to be upset I do not blame them. Baxter Healthcare deflected blame to the Hospital, but Baxter knew and should have known that inadvertent misuse of the medicine is very foreseeable, thereby shooting down Baxter's defense of "Misuse". Time will tell. It is a good idea to absolutely double check with hospital nurses the exact dosage of a drug about to be given to your children, especially if you are not familiar with what are considered to be proper dosages and the Quaids most likely were not.

If you or a loved one has been injured by this or any other defective product, I would invite

Wrongful Death Case: $1.7 Million Verdict Reinstated By Court In Product Liability Case Involving Defective Whirlpool Dishwasher

A $1.7 million verdict in a product liability case involving a defective whirlpool dishwasher
was revived by a federal court in Kansas. The case involved a whirlpool dishwasher that ignited and caused a fire, leading to injuries and ultimately the death of a young lady, Emily McCoy, only 24 years old.

The plaintiffs maintain that the manufacturer, Whirlpool Corp., knew that the dishwashers were defective. The culprit appears to be the Kenmore New Generation made in 1996. In the trial, the jury concluded that the dishwasher was in fact defective with the defect resulting in serious injuries.

This is sadly another example of a lazy corporation knowing that they made a defective product, putting it out to market with a high risk of people being injured and taking their chances with lawsuits rather correcting the defects to avoid consumer being injured.
