Coffee Billionaire Killed In Boating Accident
An heir to a coffee fortune and billionaire, Joachim Herz, was killed while swimming at Lake Rabun outside of Atlanta on Saturday, May 31, 2008 in what appears to be a boating accident. At the time of the boating accident, Herz's family was in the midst of a family feud over control of the family's coffee company.
Herz, although being from Germany, spent time in his Atlanta home and is considered the 368th richest person in the world, according to Forbes Magazine. It is not yet known who the operator of the boat that killed Herz is and it is too early to tell whether any type of wrongful death lawsuit will be initiated.
